The Rainmaker @ Watermark Theatre
Jun 15 – Aug 31 all-day
The Rainmaker @ Watermark Theatre | North Rustico | Prince Edward Island | Canada

A classic romantic comedy from an exceptional American writer.

At the time of a paralyzing drought in the mid West, we discover a girl whose father and two brothers are worried as much about her potential future as an old maid as they are about their dying cattle. The truth is, she is indeed a plain girl. The brothers try every possible scheme to marry her off, without success. Nor is there any sign of relief from the relentless heat.

Suddenly, from out of nowhere, appears a sweet talking man with quite the sales pitch. He claims to be a rainmaker. He is so refreshing and persistent that the family finally hire him, but the rainmaker turns his magic on the girl and persuades her that she has a beauty all her own. Rain does come, and so does love. Romantic. Tender. Uplifting. This is a breakthrough hit about the power of faith in hard times.

Start time is 7:30pm.

Plays June 15th through August 31st. See website for full schedule - www.watermarktheatre.com - or call 963-3963

Sibling rivalry, adultery, dungeons – The Lion in Winter by James Goldman has it all. This modern day classic is comedic in tone and dramatic in action. The play tells the story of the Plantagenet family who are locked in a free for all of competing ambitions to inherit the kingdom.

The Queen, the wealthiest woman in the world is Eleanor of Aquitaine, has been kept in prison since raising an army against her husband, King Henry II. Let out for the holidays, the play centers around the inner conflicts of the royal family as they fight over which son will be king: Richard the Lionheart or dark Prince John. And then there is King Henry`s paramour – what if she bears a son? As Eleanor says: “ What family doesn’t have its little ups and downs?”
