Throughout the year, NCPEI hosts many events and activities for our members and the general public as a means of promoting and preserving Aboriginal Culture and Heritage. One of our main events each year is the Annual Abegweit Pow Wow at the Panmure Island Cultural Grounds.
This year, the pow wow falls on August 18th & 19th.
A Pow wow is a rejoicing of life through feasting and dancing to the « Heart Beat of Mother Earth, » represented in the Sacred Drum. The Pow Wow will end on Sunday evening with a traditional Mi’kmaq Feast that is open to the public with the cost by donation. There is free on-site camping, serviced washrooms and access to one of the most beautiful beaches on Prince Edward Island.
Enjoy a wonderful evening of music with Phase II and Friends. Cash bar (no debit machine on site). Tickets $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Tickets available at the weekly Pub Night on Fridays or from any board member.
