The 15th annual Prince Edward Island Marathon supporting Canadian Mental Health Association – PEI, is being held on October 14th, 2018. The route for the PEI Marathon supporting CMHA-PEI takes runners through the beautiful fall colours on PEI and is a Boston Qualifier. In 2016, the PEI Marathon was voted one of the top 5 Boston Qualifiers in Canada.
Runners begin at the Brackley entrance in PEI National Park and run along the Gulf Shore Parkway for 4.5 km until just past Covehead Bridge, where they will turn onto the Bayshore Rd and exit the National Park. They will follow the curve of the scenic Covehead Bay while on the Bayshore Rd. Runners will take a left onto the Eastern Rd. and run until they turn onto Highway 6, They follow Highway 6 through beautiful rolling countryside to the intersection of Highway 6 and the Confederation trail in Bedford Station. Runners then turn on to the Confederation Trail and follow it to Brackley Point Rd where they turn and make the final push to historic Downtown Charlottetown. Maps will be posted on the Marathon website.
Marathoners love the beauty of running through Prince Edward Island National Park while they make their way into Charlottetown. We would like to invite residents along the entire route to come out and cheer participants passing by!
