Talent from across the country will be featured at the 10th annual TD PEI Jazz & Blues Festival taking place in Charlottetown, PE, August 21 – 23.
Built around a new initiative called the “Confederation Jam”, the 2014 festival program will expand one of PEI’s most successful music festivals to include performances by artists from all ten Canadian provinces. This exciting new program, funded in part by PEI 2014 Inc., represents the Festival’s commitment toward elevating programming, while creating a unique avenue to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the historic 1864 Charlottetown Conference that paved the way to Confederation.
“Programming an artist from all ten provinces can represent a unique challenge atop the already difficult task of building a festival lineup,” said Mark Fisher, Festival Manager. “We are very pleased with the caliber of artists we have been able to secure in 2014 and look forward to a very successful year.”
In addition to a fresh, new look for 2014, the TD PEI Jazz & Blues Festival also has a new home for its Main Stage at the PEI Brewing Company. This newly-opened venue has become a hot-spot for a variety of events and will offer festival goers an intimate, relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a variety of diverse acts. The Festival will also return to St. Paul’s Anglican Church in the heart of downtown for its “Church Series” of shows that will feature a balance of traditional jazz, blues, and singer/songwriters.
